FAASafety.gov Enhancements
Launched on June 15, 2009
1. The AMT Awards Program was launched in the wee hours of June 15, 2009, thus allowing AMTs to register and enroll in the AMT Awards Program. This major subsystem is located under the Maintenance Hangar link in the left navigation bar.
a. Please note that this enhancement includes the first use of the “tabbed” appearance to present a much-requested user-friendly appearance.
b. Help will be provided in the next day or two in the form of Articulate® presentations; these will be available under a help tab being added as soon as the presentations are available.
2. The launch of the AMT Awards program is accompanied by the launch of the AMT syllabus, which now allows for the creation of events, seminars, and activities that will automatically award AMT credit hours.
a. FPMs and Reps should begin to use the appropriate syllabus for maintenance-related activities, seminars, and events listed in SPANS.
b. Initially, there are eight syllabi, numbers S-AMT-M-081029-002-01 through S-AMT-M-081029-002-08 with credit hours ranging from 1 to 8 hours.
Shown below is an example of the one-hour syllabus.
3. The 2009 core course for the AMT Awards program, Failure to Follow Procedures – Inspections, has been associated with the syllabus, so it now appears with one (1) hour of AMT credit.
Those who have previously taken this course will automatically be given credit for doing so in the very near future.
4. We have increased the page size from 800 pixels wide to 1024 pixels wide. This gives us more room for system features, such as the tabbed appearance. It also increases the readability of all pages on FAASafety.gov.
5. Also, note that the “equal sign” and the “plus sign” in the footer have been enhanced so you can actually see them now! The symbology reflects the concept that the FAASTeam “equals” the Industry Team Member “plus” the FAA.
