ACN 2223510What the Reporter Described
Report 1 | Narrative: During an ILS approach to ZZZ(runway XXL); I executed a missed approach. Upon receiving altitude and heading instructions from ATC; I had difficulty initially controlling the airplane to follow these instructions. While I was directed to turn left; when I focused my attention away from the Attitude Indicator to confirm gear setting and flap setting; and adjust HSI setting and altitude selection (based on the instructions provided); I found the plane turning to the right and potentially into conflicting traffic. This was even though I was trying to turn left. It was clear that I experienced spatial disorientation.
For a moment; I even believed I was turning too sharply left when I was actually during right.Following the missed approach; I landed after a second attempt using the RNAV XXL approach.
Report 1 | Synopsis: BE65 pilot reported experiencing spatial disorientation on missed approach deviated from clearance resulted in a momentary loss of aircraft control.
